Spring Fling Classes for Truro

The following classes are being offered at the Spring Fling Crop weekend in Truro and is open to all, check the date and time for each class

Photo Transfer to Wood

This class is being held in 2 parts to allow for drying time. Part 1 will be placing the photo on the wood plaque and applying pressure to dry overnight. Part 2 is reveling the photo and wood and then decorating to finish.

Class requirements: You will need a LASER copy of a photo of your choice, I did mine at staples and I had them do it as I didn’t like the quality of the “do it yourself” machines. A couple of disposable brushes, heat gun, glue gun, extension cord and any memento that you already have that you would like to decorate your piece with. I will be bringing the items that I have used along with a variety of inks and paints. A roll of paper towels or a clean cloth and an empty spray bottle will help greatly to speed up the class time!

**Remember when you copy the photo if there is writing it will appear backwards on the wood, if there is writing you will have to mirror the image on the computer first**

A Spot of Tea

Teapots and Tea Cups seem to be everywhere these days from the supermarket to the local bookstores, so why should the crafting industry be any different. People love this hot beverage and the many ways to present it!

So Rebecca got crafty and came up with a Tea Inspired set of cards to give the gift of Tea. The tall card features a tag and two pockets to hold Specialty Tea bags and the shaped card also holds a tea bag inside.

You Need to See This!

No More Clogged Glue Bottles

This has been seen by a few of you but I thought I should put it on here as well. This is a video put out by Laura Denison and if you have shared the frustration of the glue bottle clogging, than you need to do this! It works like a charm!

Ruffled Feathers

A 2 Page Layout

I truly enjoy myself when I’m able to grab some paper and start creating, layering, inking, cutting and putting it all together to satisfy my mind’s eye!

I started this layout a few months ago and I finally had some time to finish it. I chose a line from Teresa Collins called Life Emporium because I was drawn to the colours. I also knew I wanted to use a “new to me” die from Spellbinders   (the feathers) and this is what transpired.

Please note that the colour of the photo showing on the computer screen is not 100% accurate and the original layout is on display in The Garden.

Here is a little tip

I didn’t have any photos when I selected the paper so when I do have photos and they don’t go with the paper I will simply have them developed as black and white or in sepia so that they blend in without clashing. If you like things to match even more you can even hand tint specific items in the photos to match your papers!
