A Spot of Tea

Teapots and Tea Cups seem to be everywhere these days from the supermarket to the local bookstores, so why should the crafting industry be any different. People love this hot beverage and the many ways to present it!

So Rebecca got crafty and came up with a Tea Inspired set of cards to give the gift of Tea. The tall card features a tag and two pockets to hold Specialty Tea bags and the shaped card also holds a tea bag inside.

You Need to See This!

No More Clogged Glue Bottles

This has been seen by a few of you but I thought I should put it on here as well. This is a video put out by Laura Denison and if you have shared the frustration of the glue bottle clogging, than you need to do this! It works like a charm!

Ruffled Feathers

A 2 Page Layout

I truly enjoy myself when I’m able to grab some paper and start creating, layering, inking, cutting and putting it all together to satisfy my mind’s eye!

I started this layout a few months ago and I finally had some time to finish it. I chose a line from Teresa Collins called Life Emporium because I was drawn to the colours. I also knew I wanted to use a “new to me” die from Spellbinders   (the feathers) and this is what transpired.

Please note that the colour of the photo showing on the computer screen is not 100% accurate and the original layout is on display in The Garden.

Here is a little tip

I didn’t have any photos when I selected the paper so when I do have photos and they don’t go with the paper I will simply have them developed as black and white or in sepia so that they blend in without clashing. If you like things to match even more you can even hand tint specific items in the photos to match your papers!

Perpetual Desk Calender

Well we completely stole this idea from a fellow crafter who made this a couple of years ago, because we LOVED IT and we are just now getting it out there, but I had to find the right paper to complete this project! Rebecca offered to put this together and she did a beautiful job!

Each Month has its own tag with a pocket on the front and room on the back to keep notes and each day of the week also has room to write down special dates or even add a photo!

A Hidden Hinge Mini Album

I know it has been a long time since we did a mini album so I’m a little excited to post this one. I chose a line called Madeleine by Bo Bunny. I left out embellishing it so that you can finish it as you fill up the pockets, flaps, and pages with your personal pieces, memento’s, and findings.

The Hidden Hinge technique will allow you to create other mini albums to accommodate many pages and compensate for space!

I won’t sugar coat this, you are going to need a roll of Sookwang tape in order to hold this gem together and it is going to take the better part of the day in order to complete this from cover to cover.

I will apologize now as I forgot to take a picture of the closure for the album, however it is on display here in The Garden. It is a hand inked lace band held together with a vintage safety-pin painted white and prettied up with a few small coordinating flowers.

A Little Mixed Media with a Double Scoop of Gelatos

It’s been a while since I last made a post, the weather has been dreadful and a lot has been going on with the family and finally I feel like I’m getting back in the swing of things here in The Garden! So to kick of the week and getting back to being crafty I present the first of a few classes!

A lot of you have bought Gelatos or are very interested in them because of their versatility but just haven’t gotten around to trying them out yet, so this is your chance. Rebecca created this canvass using Gelatos, first to build a background and then added them to modeling paste to add pop to enhance the dimension, and last she coloured the stamped birds with the Gelatos to bring everything together!
